Do you ever notice as you go through your day, that occasionally you find yourself sighing or breathing deeply? Within that brief moment, you may come back to center and notice that you are actually breathing. How many times throughout the day, do we take our breath for granted? Our amazing respiratory and autonomic nervous system keeps us breathing, our heart pumping, our immune system regulated and our body functioning, without us even noticing. It never stops. Often, it’s not until we take time to slow down enough, do we notice this magnificent inter-play of perfection.
Notice as you view the video how easy it is to come back to center simply by noticing your breath. It’s right under your nose..!

One of the easiest ways to deal with challenges is to change your perception of the situation. That may seem like the hardest thing to do, especially if you´ve been hit with a difficult challenge or obstacle. Yet, in reality, changing ourselves is much, much easier than trying to change anyone else. Anyone with a life partner or children will attest to that fact!
For example, if someone drove by you as you were walking down the road and threw a bucket of cold water on you, what would you do?
1. Be angry for days, weeks, months, years and tell the “horrible” story of how you were attacked.
2. Think how silly the custom to throw water on people to celebrate a religious holiday.
3. Get into the spirit and throw a bucket of water back.
When I lived in Ecuador, this practice lasted for several weeks before Ash Wednesday. I got soaked once or twice and saw old people, mothers with babies and young children, people in nice suits get hit by flying water. At times it was downright dangerous, usually inconvenient and almost always annoying. However, was I going to change the tradition in the country I was a guest in? Hardly!
So the only thing I could do was change my perception of the custom. It was by far the easiest and simplest thing to do.
The next time you have a challenge or obstacle to overcome, stop and decide what perception you are going to choose in this situation. It can feel incredibly empowering to know that you have made the choice to face something or someone difficult with grace, calmness, humor or love rather than victimhood, anger, fear or worry.

Take time to connect to your inner self through meditation, prayer, or other practices. It’s important to remember that who and what you are is other than – and greater than – your circumstances. In setting some time aside every day to focus within, you create an oasis for yourself, and start to build a reservoir of resilience. That inner contact may also provide you with inspiration and guidance and even specific answers that will help you overcome.
Focus on Love
Make sure that you have people, animals, and things you love around you to feed, heal, and replenish your heart and soul. Love is what comforts and consoles us, restores us, strengthens us, and reminds us of what’s most important. Stay in touch with those beings and things (and places) that are sources of upliftment and inspiration for you.

Life challenges usually arrive when we least expect them. Becoming engulfed in the details of your challenge often happens in the blink of an eye.
Checking Out Your Challenge:
Asking the following questions is an excellent beginning to solving your dilemma:
Has this happened before? What insight does a repeat of this challenge provide?
Ask your subconscious mind to help you discover other choices that you haven’t yet considered.
Have you brainstormed ideas? Chance suggestions sometimes provide easier solutions.
What solutions tried by people who faced something similar could you use?

Have you ever found yourself in a transition where you know you need to let go of one thing in order to embrace and welcome what’s next? Me, too!
I used to beat myself up, feeling like a failure because something I had done didn’t work out as I planned. But, now when I find myself in front of a closing door I welcome it, embrace it and begin to get excited about what’s coming next. Because, it’s always something bigger and better than I could have imagined. So, I want to share a few tips that can help you move through the transitions in your life with a bit more grace.
1. Know that everything happens for a reason.
No matter what you face in your life, there is a larger plan at work that is guiding you to where you’re meant to be. So allow yourself to relax through the situation and embrace the deeper meaning in what’s happening.
2. Have faith in yourself.
As you journey through life, the greatest gift and asset you have is your Self. So, believe in your Self, in who you are and your ability to love yourself through everything.
3. Trust the process.
Surrender to the process that is unfolding, stay engaged in that process and you’ll “arrive” exactly where you’re meant to be.
